What's Up Wednesday's {Link Party}

We hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend (for those in the United States). A few week's ago on a whim Mr. Woodsy and I decided to book a vacation. Just because we are on vacation does not mean you guys can't party!  As we enjoy our Caribbean vacation we can't wait to get back home to work on Halloween projects.

Thank you to all who participated last week. We had some great projects linked up. Please make sure you take a look at the
featured projects from last week after you link up your latest and greatest  project(s). Now, let's get this party started!

Rules for the link party:
-We would like it if you followed us on the blog (whether it's through blogger or via email subscription) !
-PLEASE display our party button somewhere on your blog.

What's Up Wednesday's {Link Party}

Woohoo! Not only is it the last day of August, but it's our 45th link party. I find it hard to believe. It just goes to show you how quickly time flies by! Make sure you stop back tomorrow to read my pre-Halloween decorating post. You'll get a glimpse at all the cool projects we plan to work on in the next two months! If you can't wait until tomorrow to read our Halloween post you can check out all the cool Halloween projects we completed last year. You'll probably get the sense that it's our favorite holiday!

I've been a busy bee ever since we got home from the beach. I have tons of exciting projects to get accomplished within the next few week's before we leave on vacation. No time for sleep--it's 24-7 craft-a-thon at our house.

What's Up Wednesday's {Link Party}

Happy Wednesday! I can't believe August is half way over. I've been busy drawing up an editorial calendar from now until the end of this year. It started freaking me out a bit seeing how there are only a few more months left and then bam! Another new year! So many projects--so little time.

Of course it doesn't help that Halloween is right around the corner, like 75 days around the corner. Mr. Woodsy and I have put together our Halloween project list and plan to start working on a project this week. Don't worry. You'll find out what projects we will be up to this year on my second annual pre-Halloween post that will go out on September 1st (which is when Mr. Woodsy deems it appropriate to even start thinking about Halloween). I'll give you a hint--we have a few BIG projects in the works... not too many little projects this year. I can't wait to start working on Halloween projects. Our annual Halloween Party is still in limbo. I haven't quite convinced Mr. Woodsy to have another party this year. Enough of my Halloween ramblings...

Thank you to all who participated in our link party last week. We had some great projects linked up. Please make sure you take a look at the featured projects from last week after you link up your project(s). Now, let's get this party started!

What's Up Wednesday's {Link Party}

Happy Wednesday! I can officially say our blog is a year old, and we've owned our house for 2 years now (both accomplishments celebrated in the past week since our last link party)! We have so many exciting opportunities coming down the pipe-line for Sew Woodsy. I know I've probably said that now a few times, and I'd love to divulge more info, but I can't just yet. Trust me, as soon as I can our loyal followers on Sew Woodsy will be the first to know. Maybe even I'll announce it on Facebook prior to announcing it on the blog. Are you following us on Facebook? If not, click the "like" button and become a fan of ours!

What's Up Wednesday's {Link Party}

This past weekend we didn't do any crafting/home DIY/ wood working projects. Instead we spent some much needed time with close friends out in the middle of no where! We go to Keaton Beach at least once a year to go scalloping. We coast along the bay in a boat, stop at several locations with snorkel gear, mesh bags, and gloves, and look for scallops. If you want to learn more about scalloping you can visit my cooking blog, Katie's Cucina, where I wrote a post on our trip last year.

In the mean time we are slowly getting back to the grind. I'm currently working on an editorial calendar for the next few months. With Halloween quickly approaching I need a game plan! If you would like to guest post about a Halloween project you are planning to make please feel free to email us your idea.

What's Up Wednesday's {Link Party}

We were pretty busy this past weekend and we really haven't slowed down! I worked diligently on some homemade business cards for a blog conference I attended on Saturday (blog post to come), and we  finished up our super secret guest post project for Sawdust and Paper Scraps. I also worked on a dress that was a HUGE fail. But that's besides the point. I'm excited to see what crafts everyone else has been working on!

Remember, yesterday, we featured 6 wonderful projects that were linked up last week. If you are new to our blog, please grab a party button and display it somewhere on your blog! Now, let's party!

What's Up Wednesday's {Link Party}

Yesterday, I posted about the features from last week. Which all five projects happened to tie for "Reader's Choice", and ironically they were all about sewing clothes! I've decided to change it up, and dedicate one post each week to nothing but featured projects linked up from the past week's link party. I think I'll try to keep the features on Tuesdays.

I hope everyone has been enjoying summer and making a little time in their busy lives to do a little crafting. Mr. Woodsy and I are currently working on a super cool guest post for Sawdust and Paper Scraps Handmade Christmas in July. Stay tuned next week for our guest post!

Lastly, has anyone noticed? We bought a domain name and have already transferred it over! You might not have noticed because we made sure we redirected the .blogspot.com to the new .com! This is the first of many exciting changes to Sew Woodsy. If you follow us on Facebook you can get some insider updates!

What's Up Wednesday's {Link Party} & Features

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July. Mr. Woodsy and I spent ours up north visiting family. We always spend our Independence Day's beach side. This year it was up north in two very busy cities; Philadelphia and New York City. No rest and relaxation for us... we hit the pavement running. While in Philly we did a historical walking tour, visited both the Constitution Center and the Liberty Bell. In NYC we were able to score tickets to see Spider Man --Turn off the Dark (AMAZING) and another off-broadway show which I'll talk about at a later date! We also got to visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island among other things. I can't wait to share pictures from our trip as soon as I'm done sorting through the 500+ (and then of course editing them). We got in yesterday afternoon and we've been tending to our house, our selves, and our little pup who missed us dearly. On the way home we were talking about all of the small projects we want to accomplish this month i.e., the craft room chair makeover, our master bedroom frame, recovering the bench, sewing curtains and making valances for our bedroom, a few secretive wood working projects, and mastering shirring so I can make cool new skirts and dresses for summer! But first, I guess I need to go pick up my sewing machine from being serviced! That's first on my chore list for this coming weekend.

*I apologize if I did not comment on link party post during the past 2 weeks. I'm trying to slowly get caught up! :)

Here are the top 4 features (+ the new readers choice {there was a tie}) from last week. If you were one of the lucky 6 please make sure you grab a featured button and display it proudly (somewhere) on your blog! Make sure you stop by our Facebook page because we've started highlighting a few of the featured projects on there too!

Krylon Lamp Magic from Dream Home DIY
Now that we are starting to really think about our bedroom I really want to get rid of our plain lamps and make some awesome ruffle shades... well maybe just switch out the drum.... I love this!

Free Printable 4th of July Bunting & Flags from Nifty Thrifty Things
{free printable: 4th of july bunting & flags}
Even though the 4th of July has come and gone it does not mean we have to stop being patriotic! I absolutely LOVE this!

Darts from Wayward Girls' Crafts
I've yet to make darts, and this was a great introductory tutorial! :)

The reader's choice this week was tied... so here they are:

How to Make A Simple Bow from Pink Stitches

I love this tutorial and pinned it on Pinterest! I've always wanted to know how to make a bow like this and now I know how!!! :)

New Little Stamps from Saraccino
How awesome are these new stamps? I love all of her hand carved works! They are all so unique!
