Features from Last Week's Link Party

Thank you to everyone who linked up last week. I'm so happy to see that there are more and more amazing Halloween projects out there and of course the usual amazing non-Halloween projects. I'm happy to report that most of our Halloween bins are down and our garage officially looks like Halloween through up in it. I refuse to bring all the bins inside the house last year. I think that's where we went wrong and why are house felt like a disaster zone for 3 months! I'm slowly starting to decorate and work on projects. I have some pretty cool Halloween projects that will be featured on Ucreate, Dollar Store Crafts, A Brooklyn Limestone, and Blissful & Domestic all in the coming weeks! Along with my usual Bowdabra Blog contributions!

I'm also excited to announce that our new blog design (and migration) is almost complete. Get ready for a brand new look and feel in the coming week.

In the mean time here are our top 5 features from last week, and our Reader's Choice feature! If this is your first time being featured please grab a featured button, and display it proudly on your blog!

Pillow Talk from Salvage Savvy
This pillow instantly caught my eye. I want to make a similar pillow for our master bedroom makeover project. I love the colors and the simplicity of it. It looks like it belongs in the Vera collection! Great job!

Potion Bottles from Polish The Stars
You guys know we are suckers for Halloween. I'm loving these potion bottles!!! I need to make (even) more this year... I see this technique in my future. What about you guys? Anyone making potion bottles. Please share with us!

A Princess and Her Shoes from Crafty Mischief
How adorable are these shoes? Would you have guessed that the zebra pattern is duct tape? Yep, that's right... a patterned duct tape. AWESOME! I'm ready to go cover my own shoes! Stop by Brittany's blog and welcome her to blog land. She just started blogging last month and has some pretty cool projects!

Ummm... how awesome are these pumpkins? I would have never of guessed these were the same cheap styrofoam pumpkins I saw the other week at the dollar store. For a few dollars you can have amazing pumpkins! Love it!

A Furniture Redo from Lovely etc.
I'm loving this furniture redo. This poor beat up cabinet looked like it had no chance... after some minor repairs and fresh coats of paint Carrie turned it into an amazing piece of furniture! Now the big question is do you like this with or without the detailed door? Head over to her blog and tell her your thoughts!

Simply Crafty Halloween Printable by Simply Crafty
I'm loving Kristie's first Halloween printable and so is the rest of the blogging world! I can see this printable replacing a photo and framed in our entry way or even using some mod podge and placing this on an inexpensive canvas. Thanks for making an awesome printable to share!

Features from Last Week's Link Party

Mr. Woodsy and I had a wonderful vacation, but all good things must come to an end. We are back and (sort of) in full swing. Halloween is officially right around the corner, and although we've only been home for two days I'm itching to bring everything down from the attic. Hopefully by the end of the week we can get some bins down! Can't wait to share some awesome projects with everyone. In the mean time here are our top 5 features from last week, and our Reader's Choice feature! If this is your first time being featured please grab a featured button, and display it proudly on your blog!

How amazing is this room? The color choices, furniture, and of course the floors. The room is amazing. It's a dream room. I not only love this room, but I'm also hoping that EVERYONE will go vote for Cassity & Roeshel over on Facebook.  They are two of ten bloggers taking part in 30 Days of HGTV Home. Best of all you'll have a chance to win free flooring each day for the entire month of September.

Mini Polaroid Necklace from Polish The Stars
How freaking awesome is this!??!?! I'm ready to make one right this second. Actually I was ready to make one the minute I saw this project. It's awesome!!!

OMG! If you have not been to Mimi's blog you MUST go see the before pictures of this chair. This chair revamp is amazing!

How to Make a Pillow from Saved By Love Creations
MonogramPillow51 300x300 Painted Pillow With Monogram Print Canvas
I love this pillow. Like LOVE LOVE this pillow. This has definitely inspired me to make more pillows for our master bedroom project.

Rosette Necklace from Blissful and Domestic
Photobucket
I've seen so many variations, but this one stands out! I absolutely LOVE the lace added to the back of this necklace. I made rosettes many moons ago, and have yet to make them into a necklace. It's still on my to do list!

Reader's Choice:

The No-Sew Fabric Pumpkin from Happy Hour Projects
How awesome is this pumpkin? I still can't get over how easy it is to make. Plus, if you have little ones that get into everything this is a perfect way to decorate!

A big thank you to everyone who linked up last week! We had over 100 projects! I apologize in advanced if I wasn't able to comment on everyone's projects from last week. Mr. Woodsy and I left for vacation this past weekend and have limited access to the internet. Just because I didn't leave a comment doesn't mean that I didn't look at it. Promise!

Here are our top 5 features from last week, and our Reader's Choice feature! If this is your first time being featured please grab a featured button, and display it proudly on your blog!

Quatrefoil Stenciled Corkboard from Saved By Love Creations
MarthaFeature 300x272 Quatrefoil Stenciled Corkboard New Martha Stewart Decorative Art Paints!
LOVE this stenciled corkboard! I have cork laying around in our garage... just need to find a frame and I'm totally on this project!

Tiered Tee from The Gunny Sack
Second week in a row... she's done it again. I LOVE this shirt. I've seen them at the stores for ridiculous prices. I'd rather make my own for a fraction of the cost. Love this look.

Wow, this looks amazing. I'm beyond  jealous. This dresser is amazing. Why can't my neighbors give something away this amazing...like a dresser that I am desperately searching for! lol.

DIY Jewelry Holder from Crafting and Creativity
Love this idea. I wish I would have thought about making something like this before I bought some stupid wire rack to hang in our closet. Maybe I'll donate the wire rack and make one of these instead!

New Fall Wreath from Days of Chalk and Chocolate
Love this ruffled wreath and the variety of colors. I really like the different styles of flowers.

Features from Last Week's Link Party

First off, we have a giveaway going on until Thursday evening. Make sure you head over to the page and enter to win a set of "Dream" hand-carved stamps! They are amazing and made by a dedicated follower of ours!
-----------------

Wow--another week has gone by. We spent our weekend at the beach doing a little R&R and spending some time with Mr. Woodsy's family. Not too much crafting went on. But I did have a chance to finally take some "finished" photo's of a dress I recently completed. Stay tuned. I'll be posting about them within the next week!

I'm also a bit in shock that Halloween is 69 days out and we've yet to start a project. So much for starting projects in August this year. Guess it will be a race to the finish line like last year was!

Now, on to the features. Here are our top 5 features from last week, and our Reader's Choice feature! If this is your first time being featured please grab a featured button, and display it proudly on your blog!

Pintuck White Duvet Cover from December Skye
This fairly new blogger, Skye, made an amazing Pintucked duvet cover for $20. These are all the rage right now in the stores and range from $70-300. Yes, it does look a bit tedious, but for $20 and to call it your own creation is well worth the effort in my book. Make sure you head over to her blog and show her some love. She has other amazing projects on your blog, that I'm sure your going to love!

Lemonade Stand from Accessorize and Organize
Ummm how amazing is this? AWESOME! I follow Rachel on both Twitter and Pinterst and got a sneak peak after she finished this project. For $17.93 Rachel and her children made this amazing lemonade stand. I always dreamed of having my own lemonade stand as a kid. A stand just like the one Rachel and her kiddo's made. I'm jealous. I want to join her kids and sell lemonade too!

A Simple Message from A Creative Princess
If you frequent Pinterst (like I do) you've definitely seen a wide variety of these signs. Super inexpensive, powerful, and best of all easy-to-make! I'm already dreaming up a Holiday sign to make!

Sew Cute! from The 36th Avenue
I'm in love with this sewing spot! I've never used vinyl as a stencil, and am very intrigued to give this technique a try! I love the antique look DesirĂ©e gave these thrift store boxes! Make sure you stop by her blog. She's giving away 3 sets of vinyl stencils to create your own customized sewing area.

The Secret Compartment from Craptastic
Katie found this chair at an estate sale. Removed the "creepy fabric", painted the chair, and recovered it. The best part of this chair is the secret compartment. Mr. Woodsy and I just found bar stools that had this secret compartment and fell in love with them (not so much the price tag). I think I'm officially going to start searching for estate sales to attend.

Reader's Choice

DIY Patio Lights from Crafty Butt
How amazing are these lights. Melody saved tons of money by making her own lights. She found a bag of the grapevine balls at the Dollar Tree and with a little time she untangled a strand of Christmas lights she had laying around. These are AMAZING!

Features from Last Week's Link Party

A big thank you to all the amazing crafters that linked up last week! We had some fabulous projects that not only inspired me but got me motivated! If you follow us on Twitter, you are probably aware of the fact that we were out thrifting for a good part of Saturday. However, we did go into this amazing wood imported furniture store; Washburn Imports.  Everything was beyond our price range, but it got our creative juices flowing. The first project I'm featuring today reminds me of some of the pieces we saw on Saturday.

Now, on to the features. Here are our top 5 features from last week, and our Reader's Choice feature! If this is your first time being featured please grab a featured button, and display it proudly on your blog!

Rustic 3 Drawer Chest from 551 East Furniture Design
WOW--I absolutely LOVE this 3 drawer chest. Just like Julia, I can't imagine sanding and distressing something that is painted perfectly, but I know in the coming months we will be doing this very same thing. I just wish we had a basement where we would find little gems like this sitting in the corner (rotting away) waiting for a little TLC! Instead I keep pursuing Craigslist in hopes to find something with a little character that we can make amazing!

Repurposed Thrift Store Mirror from Second Chances by Susan
Oh my, I love what Susan did to this awesome $7 thrift store find! I love the colors and finish on it!!! This inspires me to go thifting!

Ballerina Birthday Bash from Polka Dots on Parade
I absolutely LOVE this balloon wreath and all the other aspects of the Ballerina Birthday Party. I took ballet when I was a little girl and would have appreciated a fun birthday party like Jaime gave for her daughter's birthday!

DIY Spooky Sugar Cubes from Closet Crafter
Ok, so technically this is food which wouldn't be allowed, but I'm letting this slide as a craft since your making your own (amazingly awesome) skull sugar cubes! I'm glad to see that their are other's out their that love Halloween as much as Mr. Woodsy and I do. I do not think it's too soon to post about Halloween (Mr. Woodsy feels different about that subject)! I love these and plan to make them for my morning coffee for the months of September and October... and maybe somehow incorporate these into our Halloween party?

Trash to Treasure Foot Stool from I saw that going differently in my mind...
How amazing is this awesome foot stool revamp? The best part is that it was 100% free. I love when we as crafters get the ah ha! moment that we can revamp something. Go check out what this foot stool first looked like! :)

Reader's Choice

Easy Art Center from Burton Avenue
No wonder why this was the Reader's Choice this week--this station is awesome and oh-so-smart!

Features from Last Week's Link Party

We stayed busy this past weekend--not crafting, but spending time with family from out-of-town. Well technically Friday evening and early Saturday morning I was sewing the last of my cool ties. Which came in handy during our very hot day at Disney World.

Here are our top 5 features from last week, and our Reader's Choice feature! If this is your first time being featured please grab a featured button, and display it proudly on your blog!

In no particular order--here they are!

{DIY} Fabric Applique from Southern Lovely
Love this applique onesie. I make them for just about every baby shower I go to and they are always a hit! Can't wait to see other variations!

No Slip Dish Towel from Fancy Frugal Life
Love this no slip dish towel. I think I need to do this to a few of my dish towels... They are always falling off the oven handle!

Time Out Seat from The Little Giggler
I love this little time out bench!

Beach & Ocean Tee from Busily Spinning Momma
I LOVE this top. I have been wanting to make a similar top for quite some time now. Dorian makes this seem so easy! I must give this a try, asap!

Garage Sale Lamp Makeover from DIY Kinda Girl

I love the revamp to this lamp! It looks wonderful!!!

Reader's Choice:

Craft Room Mega Post from Little Lucy Lu

Given the fact that we just did a craft room revamp *and still have 3 more post to blog about--I can relate to your room! It's a constant work in progress. I love your creative space and so does our followers!

Features from Last Week's Link Party

Thank you to everyone who linked up projects last week. We had 89 projects linked up! Keep up the great work. For those of you who missed yesterday's post--it was an important one. Not just because we are giving away cans of Paint It Black, but because August marks our first blogiversary! It's hard to believe we've been documenting our DIY projects for a year now. I look back through all of our post and now know where all of my time has gone... on projects and blogging!

In any event...

All last week I was having craft withdraw and dreamed of crafting all weekend long--only to find both of us feeling sick (now confirmed by the doctors that they are sinus infections), with very little energy. However, we did have enough energy to clean, de-clutter, and reorganize our guest bedroom! Ever since we finished the craft room earlier this year we never really cleaned up our guest room. In any event the guest room became "crap room 2". All of the leftover and unwanted craft room supplies (along with a bunch of other junk) landed in our guest bedroom which to date has only been used once out of the two years living in our home. So you can see where the motivation was to get us cleaning that room... if it wasn't for out of town family who have never been to our "new" home we probably would not have cleaned up that room.

Enough of my rambling--here are our top 5 features from last week with not one but two Reader's Choice features (that's right they were tied)! If this is your first time being featured please grab a featured button, and display it proudly on your blog! In no particular order--here they are!

Just Sittin' from Shelstring
Look at this beauty! I love that it was all made out of scrap wood! Materials right in her own home, and BIG props to Michele who tackled this project. She is a brave women. Mr. Woodsy would probably faint in fear of me picking up a tool!

Stacked Topiary from Crazy Wonderful
Ahh! Aren't these amazing? People pay crazy amounts of money at stores for these artificial topiary, and yet Shelley made these beauties herself! And I can't help to take note of that gorgeous mirror hanging over the mantle! It all looks amazing.

Wowza's! Is this pillow amazing or what? First off, the patience Tonia has is amazing! I need to gain patience like she has. I see projects that require cutting lots of small pieces and get flash backs to last year's Tissue Paper Tree project. I digress--this pillow is beyond amazing and looks just as good if not better than the original $145 pillow!

Thrift Store Desk Makeover from SaVvy DeCor
OMG--this desk has truly inspired me to want to find a solid piece of furniture and revamp it and make it as awesome as this desk turned out. The day I saw this I dragged Mr. Woodsy to two different second-hand furniture stores. We've yet to find what we are looking for, but overtime I need motivation I go back to this desk. It's amazing!

Photograph Tiles from Midwestern Sewing Girl
I can not stop looking at these photo tiles. Not only are they amazing, but they are inexpensive, and a great conversation starter. I am ready to go make some tomorrow... or at least pin it to my pinterest board to make for a later date!

Reader's Choice
(tied this week)

Baby Doll Dress from Sew Coco
Look at this amazing dress! I still can't get over that Denise sewed this--without a pattern! She did an amazing job. I hope that one of these days I can make a dress this amazing without messing it up the first, second, and third times!

Raceback Top from Sew What's Happening?
I love the racerback to this top! I can't wait to start making my own tops... one day! :)

Features from Last Week's Link Party

Thank you to everyone who linked up projects last week. We spent last weekend on a weekend getaway, but got to give our Bean Bag Toss we made to our good friends (and they loved it)! We hope to start working on some more projects this week. Here are our favorite five projects plus the reader's choice from last week.

Button Wall Plaque for Sewing Room from At Home by the Baye
These are super cute! I can't get over how cute these are... and creative!

Fabric Wrap Belt from Craft Buds
I absolutely LOVE this fabric belt... I can't wait to make one!

Plywood Outdoor Chalk Board from Acessroize and Organize
If I had kids I would be all over this! What an awesome chalk board!

The Early Bird and the Night Owl from Cookie and Claire
How adorable are these onesies!!?! All cut free hand and used some freezer paper to stencil on the details! Great job!

Salvage a Melted/Damaged Lamp Shade from Gardners to Bergers
Love this lampshade revamp! Everyone is doing them and somehow I've yet to make one!

Reader's Choice

The Starboard Skirt from Suburbs Mama

I love this skirt and the fact that she was able to make a skirt for both her and her daughter and a pair of pants for her son (all out of a $3.99 thrifted sheet)!
