SINGER® Sew Very Easy House Party™

 

Yesterday, I hosted a SINGER® Sew Very Easy House Party™ at my home. For those of you who do not know what House Party is, it's an awesome company that works with various vendors to help market their products to the average buyer. In return you get some awesome free products to try out and amazing take-aways for your guest!

House Party will send your party box, typically, 3-4 weeks prior to your party. My box for the Singer party came in while I was in Indianapolis for business. Mr. Woodsy failed to tell me that it came in, however, noted to himself that this was the heaviest box to date. The minute I got home I saw it on the counter and I was jumping for joy. Look at all the goodies House Party sent me!

What's even better is that because we got so many great goodies and so little people attended the party I'm going to be giving some sewing goodies. Stay tuned later this week for more details!

We had a low turn out at my party (because it was mother's day weekend multiple friends who sew on a weekly/monthly basis were unable to attend). However, that did not put a damper on our party! I'm actually kind of glad we had a small group over. We all had enough room to sew, concentrate, and of course do a little talking. It also gave me a chance to really show off this amazing new SINGER^® Confidence Stylist™ machine. It is one amazing piece of machinery! After using it I feel like I've upgraded from a Honda to a Mercedes!

We started off our party with some Mexican snacks; mini chicken tacos, guacamole, salsa, and black bean and mango salad. Then got right to sewing. We made Roll-Up Accessories Cases that were super simple to make and gave us a chance to try out some of the fancy stitches!

Vanessa was having problems with her Singer machine, so she eagerly jumped on the new SINGER^® Confidence Stylist™. Her machine is exactly the type of machine I learned how to sew on -- old fashion metal bobbin and all. She absolutely loved the new Confidence Stylist machine and is ready to go out and buy one!  

Sarah, the author of While They Snooze, flew through her project! She is a speed sewer! I guess you have to be when you only get to sew when the kiddos are sleeping! 

Annglea, the author of Anngela's Pretty Little Things, hadn't sewn in months. So she was super happy to be on her machine again! And the best part of all is that she has been wanting to make a roll-up accessory case for a while now!

Here are all the girls hard at work! I'm very lucky to have a pool table that converts into a 12 top-table! It makes for a great sewing location!

Jolee's Jewel-It-Yourself "Lunch" Party & Giveaway

If you follow Katie's Cucina you would be oh-so familiar with the concept of House Party. If you aren't familiar I suggest you go check it out! HouseParty.com host a variety of house parties from food, to travel, to crafts and everything in between. This was my 6th house party I've hosted this year! When Mr. Woodsy found out I got accepted to throw yet another house party he told me that I was not aloud to have it at our house until the office project was complete. With that being said I had to get creative. I thought about all the people I would invite, and since I was only receiving a limited number of bracelet sets I knew my invite would be small anyways. I figured the best place to have my house party and not disrupt work on the office was to have it at work. Almost all the ladies in my department like to craft, and since we held a crafting lunch last month I figured we would do it again.

When I sent the "meeting invitation" at work, all the ladies were beyond excited! None of us--including me had ever made jewelry before (well one person, but it was a very long time ago). I watched the video Jolee's Jewel put on you tube multiple times and even wrote down the directions. The bracelets were so easy to make, and now I guess I'll have a new hobby to take up (not what Mr. Woodsy wants to here)! 

As soon as I got the box in I had to open it up to see all the fun goodies I received!

I asked all my co-workers to bring there lunch, and I reserved a conference room where we could all eat lunch and craft! Everyone who attended had a blast! 

I asked everyone who was attending to watch the bracelet making tutorial, so they would have a better idea of how to create there bracelets (although I still walked everyone through)!

How to make the world's easiest banner!

This past Saturday I hosted a Thai Kitchen House Party. Some of you may ask... "what's a House Party"? It's a brilliant way to create buzz around a product for your family and friends try! If you want to read in-depth about our recent Thai Kitchen House Party feel free to visit Katie's Cucina. This was our fourth time hosting a house party, and each time I've managed to create my own decorations to personalize each event.

All week both of us were busy with crazy projects and other personal business to attend to that I (as in the Mrs.) never got around to making any decorations for our House Party. A few hours prior to the party I started brainstorming on quick party decorations. That's when I remembered that House Party provided me with the Thai Kitchen logo.

So here is the trick to making the world's easiest banner: I printed out six logo's on 67lb cover stock, cut them, and quickly ran them through my sewing machine. That's it!

I soon had an ultra personalized and very unique Thai Kitchen banner to help set the mood! Don't fret the next time you have a party and need decor. Think out of the box and challenge yourself to make something that will stand out at your next party!

Disclaimer: I classified this project as "free" being that I did not have to run out to the store and purchase anything. Yes, I do realize that I had to use ink from my printer; paper and thread once purchased as well. If you tried to caluclate the price I think it would come out to pennies.
